Abstract
The program aims to promote sustainable land use practices and improve the livelihoods of rural communities. The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with local stakeholders, including farmers, community groups, and government agencies. The REDD+ Preparedness Proposal (RPP) is a key component of the initiative, outlining the steps necessary to prepare for the implementation of REDD+ activities in Rwanda. The proposal emphasizes the importance of building capacity among local stakeholders, developing a robust monitoring and evaluation system, and establishing a clear framework for benefit sharing. The Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA) is the lead agency responsible for implementing the REDD+ initiative in Rwanda. The agency is working closely with other government ministries, as well as international partners, to ensure the successful implementation of the program. The initiative is expected to have a significant impact on the environment and the livelihoods of rural communities in Rwanda.
