Abstract
Kahabi served as an Assistant Lecturer at Kyela College for Skills and Technology from 1st to 29th February 2012. During this period, he taught the course TX005: Fashion Design, which encompasses a broad range of topics including drawing, painting, and sign writing, surface design, pattern design, and drafting. The course requires a diverse set of tutors with various skills to provide a comprehensive learning experience. The subtopics covered by Charles M. Kahabi in the Fashion Design course include visual elements of design, which comprise line, space, shape, and texture. Line is discussed in terms of its types and basic applications, as well as its characteristics. Space is examined in relation to negative and positive space. Shape is analyzed in terms of its types, including positive and negative, rectilinear and curvilinear, geometric/organic, and abstract shapes. In addition to line and space, Charles M. Kahabi also covered texture, which involves the meaning and types of texture. Furthermore, he introduced the concept of color, including color theory, additive and subtractive combinations of color, and the color wheel. The color wheel is discussed in terms of primary, secondary, tertiary, complementary, analogous, warm, and cool colors. Properties of color, such as hue, value, tints, shades, intensity, color feelings, and emotional aspects, are also examined. As part of his responsibilities, Charles M. Kahabi acted as the course coordinator for the Fashion Design course at Kyela College for Skills and Technology. His experience in teaching and coordinating the course spans from January 2011, when the college was established, to February 2012.
