Abstract
The alliance's goal is to promote the effective use of connectivity and digital tools, as well as to provide access to formal financial services. In terms of connectivity, the alliance has made significant progress in expanding internet access. As of September 2020, the number of clients paying for internet services had reached 31, with a total of 8,594 users. Additionally, 70 localities with a population of over 400 inhabitants now have access to internet services. The alliance has also reported a 27% increase in household income among program participants compared to the control group. In terms of financial services, the alliance has made progress in mobilizing private investment in internet services. As of September 2020, the value of private investment in internet services had reached $2,849,236. The alliance has also reported a 27% increase in household income among program participants compared to the control group. The alliance has also been working to provide training in digital skills to local communities. As of September 2020, a total of 6,040 people had received training in digital skills, representing 100.6% of the alliance's overall goal. The training has focused on developing basic computer skills and internet navigation, as well as introducing new technologies and cybersecurity practices. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the alliance has adapted its training methods to include virtual sessions and remote monitoring. The alliance has also continued to work with local authorities and communities to ensure that its activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner. The alliance has also been working to implement its services in localities prioritized for internet access. In the present quarter, Yachay Telecomunicaciones completed preparations for the launch of its "Conectón Hogar" service in the locality of Curimaná. The service will provide internet access to local residents, and the alliance has confirmed that the launch will take place on October 15 through a virtual event. Overall, the alliance has made significant progress in expanding internet access and financial services in rural areas of Peru. Its efforts have focused on promoting digital skills and providing access to formal financial services, and it has adapted its methods to respond to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
