Abstract
The program focused on strengthening the Federación Paraguaya de Asociaciones de Juntas de Saneamiento (FEPAJUS) and consolidating an efficient management model in water and sanitation committees. The program's objectives included: 1. Fortalecer la FEPAJUS: Strengthening the FEPAJUS through the development of a strategic plan, capacity building, and the creation of a secretariat. 2. Consolidar el Modelo de Gestión Eficiente en las Juntas de Saneamiento: Consolidating an efficient management model in water and sanitation committees through the implementation of a participatory approach, training, and the development of a monitoring and evaluation system. 3. Generar conciencia sobre la importancia del agua potable y la participación de los usuarios en la gestión comunitaria del agua: Raising awareness about the importance of safe water and user participation in community-based water management through a campaign of sensitization and the development of a communication strategy. The program's activities included: * The creation of a secretariat for the FEPAJUS * The development of a strategic plan for the FEPAJUS * Capacity building for the FEPAJUS and its member associations * The implementation of a participatory approach in water and sanitation committees * The development of a monitoring and evaluation system for water and sanitation committees * A campaign of sensitization on the importance of safe water and user participation in community-based water management The program also included the celebration of the "Día de la Gestión Comunitaria del Agua" (Community Water Management Day) on September 14, 2015, which brought together various stakeholders, including the Fundación Moisés Bertoni, USAID, Avina, and the Paraguayan government.
