Abstract
The program aims to recruit and support disadvantaged students in 27 governorates across Egypt. As of the reporting period, 579 students are enrolled, with 40 students from Cohort 1 having completed their academic program and 65 students from Cohort 5 having joined. The program has achieved significant milestones, including the establishment of disability centers in partnership with five partner universities. The centers aim to provide support services for students with disabilities. Additionally, the program has conducted a work tour to promote the disability centers and has met with the Minister of Higher Education to discuss the initiative. The program has also implemented various activities to support students, including academic and general student monitoring, mentorship, and enhancement activities. The program has conducted a "Awesome Student" award ceremony to recognize students who have achieved high GPAs, improved their IELTS scores, and demonstrated community service. However, some students have dropped out of the program due to academic or personal reasons. The program has also conducted a career development and entrepreneurship camp for Cohort 2 students, which included a five-day workshop on entrepreneurship and career preparation. The program has also provided English language classes and other enhancement activities to support students' academic and personal development. The program has also conducted a midterm evaluation, which revealed a 27% increase in household income among program participants compared to the control group. The program has also reported a 51% employment rate among Cohort 1 graduates.
