Abstract
The training was provided to 8 members of the CRC, who will prioritize existing familial disputes and mediate between the conflicting parties. Abdul Hameed Noor, District Governor, expressed his support for the CRC's efforts, stating that it is the responsibility of both men and women to bring peace and stability to their community. The SIKA-West program has made significant progress in the past week. To date, 292 projects valued at $6,564,507 have been approved by MRRD and IDLG in ten target districts. Currently, CDCs are implementing 128 projects valued at $4,017,536. Additionally, 146 projects valued at $2,016,192 have been completed, and seven projects valued at $424,500 have been pending with the USAID Vetting Unit since mid-March. The SIKA-West Governance Department has been actively engaged in capacity building activities. Conflict Resolution Skills training was provided to 8 members of the Shindand female CRC, and Concept Note Development training was provided to 5 Miranzai CDC members in Muqur District. Gender Mainstreaming training was also provided to 23 Sultan Razia girls' school teachers in Chaghcharan. These training sessions aim to enhance the capacity of local stakeholders to manage and implement projects effectively. The SIKA-West program has also made significant progress in the areas of infrastructure development and service delivery. In Farah Province, 215 copies of the Service Providers Catalog (SPC) were distributed to 44 CDCs from various districts. The Gender Working Group organized a meeting with representatives of Women's Unions to discuss the development of a market place for women in Farah Province. In Badghis Province, a joint-visit was conducted to inform residents about government activities and listen to their concerns. The Education Department informed the people that a school will be constructed soon, and a resident requested the rehabilitation of the Shah Qiyasuddin Pilgrimage. The SIKA-West program has also been actively engaged in monitoring and evaluation activities. The Data Quality Assessment for the PMP Indicators was completed, and a Work Plan Tracker was finalized to track departmental activities. DRRD DSWs, SIKA-West Engineers, and M&E personnel conducted 59 project site visits. These activities aim to ensure that the program is on track to meet its objectives and to identify areas for improvement.
