Abstract
The program's quarterly performance report for October-December 2015 highlights key accomplishments and planning for the next quarter. During the reporting period, SGAFP received 32 new applications, with the highest inflow from Balochistan (8) and Sindh (7). The applications were primarily for women's issues (13), entrepreneurship (11), and cultural preservation (6). The USAID Grants Review Committee (GRC) convened a meeting to review 39 applications and cleared 18 for further processing. SGAFP conducted institutional assessments of 10 applicants cleared by GRC and submitted fully processed grants summaries of 28 applicants, recommending 9 cases for award and 19 cases not for award. The USAID GRC reviewed 50 fully processed grant summaries and approved 7 grants for award, bringing the total number of approved grants to 165, with 108 completed or closed and 51 at various stages of implementation. The program received approval for 7 grants totaling USD 552,597, and disbursed USD 587,174 during the reporting period. Cumulatively, USD 10.017 million have been disbursed among 154 grantees. SGAFP provided regular support to grantees, including budget realignment, no-cost extension, and guidance for conflict resolution. SGAFP staff made 83 monitoring visits to 47 grants to ensure transparency and technical support to grantees. A one-day experience sharing and learning workshop was arranged for 9 grantees, providing opportunities for capacity building, networking, and exchange of experiences. The program plans to organize an annual retreat for staff and a mega event in Islamabad to showcase grantee organizations' achievements. The quarterly newsletter for October-December 2015 will be finalized and circulated at the start of the next quarter. The program's progress and achievements will be showcased through various media channels, including social media and the program's website.
