Strengthening Clinical and Economic Aspects of Family Medicine in L'viv Oblast

The program's implementation details included the establishment of a network of agricultural extension agents, who provided training and technical support to farmers. Additionally, the initiative invested in the development of irrigation infrastructure, including the construction of canals and the installation of water pumps. Market linkage facilitation involved the establishment of relationships between farmers and buyers, with a focus on increasing access to markets for smallholder farmers. The timeframes for the initiative's implementation were as follows: the first year focused on farmer training and infrastructure development, while the second year emphasized market linkage facilitation and the scaling up of successful interventions. The midterm evaluation was conducted after 18 months of implementation, and the final evaluation is expected to be completed after 36 months. Recommendations from the midterm evaluation included the need to increase the availability of irrigation equipment and to provide additional support to women-headed households. The evaluation also highlighted the importance of continued investment in agricultural extension services and market linkage facilitation. Overall, the agricultural development initiative in Rwanda has shown promising results, with significant improvements in crop yields, household income, and food security indicators.
