Abstract
The initiative's geographic focus was on Eastern Province, where the majority of Rwanda's population resides. The program's timeframes were divided into three phases: planning and implementation (2018-2020), midterm evaluation (2020), and final evaluation (2022). Recommendations for future initiatives included scaling up the program to other provinces, increasing support for women-headed households, and addressing the ongoing challenges of soil degradation and limited market access. The program's implementation details were managed by a project management unit, which oversaw the coordination of activities, monitoring, and evaluation. The unit worked closely with local government officials, farmers' organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure the program's success. The initiative's overall goal was to improve food security and increase household incomes in Rwanda's rural areas.
