Abstract
The program is managed by Helen Keller International in partnership with several local organizations, including Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere, Inc. (CARE), Family Health International 360 (FHI360), and Environmental and Public Health Organization (ENPHO). The program's primary focus is on improving household nutrition and health behaviors, increasing the use of quality nutrition and health services by women and children, and improving access to diverse and nutrient-rich foods. To achieve these objectives, Suaahara II has implemented various interventions, including farmer training programs, infrastructure development, and market linkage facilitation. One of the key achievements of the program is the improvement in household income among program participants. The program has also made significant progress in improving access to diverse and nutrient-rich foods. Suaahara II has also made efforts to strengthen local governance and accelerate the rollout of the multisector nutrition plan. The program has established partnerships with local government agencies and has provided training and capacity-building support to local health workers. Despite these achievements, the program has faced several challenges, including delays in the implementation of some activities and difficulties in accessing remote communities. However, the program has been able to adapt to these challenges and has made significant progress in improving nutrition and health outcomes in Nepal. The program's achievements are reflected in the progress made against the annual workplan, which shows that many planned activities were completed. The program has also made significant progress in improving the health and nutrition of women and children, and has strengthened local governance and capacity-building efforts. The program's budget expenditures for the reporting period are detailed in Attachment B, while Attachment C provides information on international travel details. Attachment D provides progress against the Integrated Planning, Tracking, and Targeting (IPTT) framework. Overall, the Suaahara II Good Nutrition Program has made significant progress in improving nutrition and health outcomes in Nepal, and has demonstrated its ability to adapt to challenges and achieve its objectives.
