USAID. MISSION TO LEBANON
Project to rebuild Lebanon"s technical and vocational training capacity following damage incurred during the 1975-76 civil war.
1970

Abstract
The Directorate General of Technical and Vocational Education (DG) will manage the project, which will provide equipment to Lebanon"s major technical teacher training institute, the Institute Pedagogique Nationale d"Education Technique (IPNET). The project will enable IPNET to resume courses in electronics, electricity, and mechanics. Courses in hotel skills may also be supported, but this is of lower priority. Overall, graduation of 100 teachers by the end of year two is expected. Three short-term advisors will review IPNET"s equipment needs and help draw up specifications suitable for U.S. procurement. Any unused funds will be used to equip student laboratories and workshops in technical/vocational schools being assisted under a similar World Bank project.
