Abstract
The project will work with partner countries to increase their domestic resources for health, manage those resources more effectively, and make wise purchasing decisions. As a result, the five-year, $209 million global project will increase the use of both primary and priority health services, including HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and reproductive health services. The project is designed to fundamentally strengthen health systems, supporting countries as they navigate economic transitions needed to achieve universal healthcare. The project will focus on increasing domestic resources for health, improving health financing, and enhancing the capacity of health systems to deliver quality services. The Health Accounts (HA) estimation in Trinidad and Tobago is a key component of the project. The HA study aims to provide a comprehensive picture of the country's health financing landscape, including government expenditure, donor spending, and household out-of-pocket expenditure. The study will also examine the distribution of health financing schemes, health care providers, and health care functions. The HA methodology involves collecting data from institutional surveys, household data, and other supplementary sources. The study will use split ratios to estimate government expenditure breakdown, donor spending, and household out-of-pocket expenditure. The study will also examine the response rates of contacted entities and the distribution of initial samples of enumeration districts and households. The study will provide a range of health financing aggregates and indicators, including revenues of financing schemes, health care providers, and health care functions. The study will also examine the financing agents, factors of provision, and health care-related functions for HIV and AIDS. The study will provide a comprehensive picture of the country's health financing landscape, informing policy decisions and program implementation. The study will focus on the period 2008-2016, examining the fiscal balance and the distribution of health financing schemes, health care providers, and health care functions. The study will also examine the financing agents and their related health care providers for HIV and AIDS. The study will provide a range of health financing aggregates and indicators, including revenues of financing schemes, health care providers, and health care functions. The study will provide a comprehensive picture of the country's health financing landscape, informing policy decisions and program implementation. The study will also inform the development of health financing policies and programs, ensuring that the country's health system is equipped to deliver quality services to its citizens.
