A dog then eats one chicken, while a snake kills another chick. In a separate incident, six new chicks hatch. A chicken is observed eating thread, indicating unusual behavior. A cat subsequently eats two chicks, further depleting the population. The chickens are kept in a coop only at night, suggesting that they are allowed to roam freely during the day. Unfortunately, a neighbor's dog kills two more chickens, resulting in significant losses for the flock.
