Abstract
The program aims to improve the competitiveness of the agricultural sector in Mozambique by enhancing the value chain of key commodities such as oilseeds, pulses, and fruits. The program's year three strategy focuses on three main components: Enabling Environment, Business Development Services, and Financial Services. The Enabling Environment component aims to create a favorable business environment for agribusiness development, while the Business Development Services component provides training and technical assistance to farmers and agribusinesses. The Financial Services component seeks to improve access to finance for farmers and agribusinesses. The program targets several key indicators, including increasing the number of farmers trained in good agricultural practices, improving the yield of key commodities, and increasing the value of exports. The program also aims to establish public-private partnerships and global development alliances to leverage resources and expertise. The program will be implemented through a collaborative effort between USAID AgriFUTURO, the Government of Mozambique, and various private sector partners. The program will be monitored and evaluated through regular progress reports and performance monitoring plans. The program's activities will be organized into four components: Enabling Environment, Business Development Services, Financial Services, and Public-Private Partnerships and Global Development Alliances. The Enabling Environment component will focus on creating a favorable business environment for agribusiness development, while the Business Development Services component will provide training and technical assistance to farmers and agribusinesses. The Financial Services component will seek to improve access to finance for farmers and agribusinesses, while the Public-Private Partnerships and Global Development Alliances component will establish partnerships between the public and private sectors to leverage resources and expertise. The program will also address cross-cutting themes such as grants management, gender equity, biodiversity, and quality management systems. The program's conclusion emphasizes the importance of collaboration and partnership in achieving its objectives. The program's success will depend on the effective implementation of its activities and the commitment of its partners.
