Abstract
Specifically, ECWD will gather disaggregated data on women"s impact on the electoral process and develop constituency baseline surveys aimed at assessing civic needs and delineating issues. ECWD will also conduct a training workshop for 120 campaign managers of women aspirants, as well as awareness-raising fora in 40 electoral constituencies where there are women aspirants; the object of these fora will be to train 50 grassroots women leaders in community mobilization and the demystification of politics for women. A training-of-trainer alliance building workshop will be held for 80 gender-sensitive men, who will, in turn, hold a constituency seminar. In addition, ECWD will lobby members of the District Security Committees where there are women candidates; establish a joint Women Aspirants" Election Campaign Monitoring Base/Center; identify and train election campaign monitors to catalogue and report on incidences of malpractice during campaigns; and provide logistical support through the production of public awareness materials. Finally, ECWD will hold post-election capacity-building and review workshops for both successful and unsuccessful women candidates.
