Grant is provided to the International Commission of Jurists, Kenya, to publish six issues of Bunge, a new popular magazine (only one issue has been published to date) which discusses issues pertinent to human rights and democracy candidly and in everyday language.

Abstract
The grant will support bimonthly publication of Bunge from 10/96 to 8/97 (six issues), on the following topics: elections; the Constitution; local leaders; development; gender and governance; and democracy. The six issues, which will be published in English (a separate proposal to produce Kiswahili versions is being prepared) will reach an estimated 60,000 readers per issue.
