USAID contract no. FAO-I-00-96-90020-00 to World Learning, Inc. to support the TRANSIT-Europe (technical training for societies in transition project)

The project will be implemented by World Learning, Inc. (WLI). WLI will provide an integrated package of participant trainee support services in 9 countries: Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, and Slovakia. Key services will include: (1) assistance to the Mission in conducting a training needs assessment and developing a related training program; (2) selecting trainees and placing them in U.S., in-country, or third-country programs that respond to the identified needs; and (3) providing pre- and post-training programs and related logistic and administrative support and TA. Program implementation will comply with three U.S. government policies related to participant training: active adoption of a cost-reduction approach to training; the use of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) for at least 10% of U.S. training; and the equity of training opportunities for women.
