Abstract
The training programs emphasized the importance of crop rotation, composting, and conservation agriculture, which were found to be effective in improving soil fertility and reducing soil erosion. The initiative's focus on women-headed households was aimed at addressing the disproportionate burden of agricultural work on women in Rwanda. By providing training and support to these households, the initiative aimed to improve their livelihoods and reduce poverty. The evaluation also found that the initiative had a positive impact on the overall food security situation in Rwanda, with a significant reduction in the number of households experiencing food insecurity. The findings of the midterm evaluation informed the initiative's strategy and implementation plan for the remaining years of the program. The initiative's success was attributed to the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders, including government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and local communities. The initiative's focus on sustainable agriculture practices, market access, and community engagement helped to improve the livelihoods of small-scale farmers in Rwanda and contributed to the country's overall food security goals.
