Abstract
The training programs emphasized the importance of crop rotation, composting, and conservation agriculture, which were found to be effective in improving soil fertility and reducing erosion. The initiative's focus on women-headed households was aimed at addressing the disproportionate burden of agricultural work on women in Rwanda. By providing training and support to these households, the initiative aimed to improve their livelihoods and reduce poverty. The evaluation also found that the initiative had a positive impact on the overall food security situation in Rwanda, with a significant reduction in the number of households experiencing food insecurity. The results of the midterm evaluation provided valuable insights into the effectiveness of the initiative and informed the development of strategies for scaling up the program.
