Grant to the New Transcentury Foundation (TNTF) to establish a center to provide management support services to PVO"s undertaking small enterprise projects in developing countries.
1979

Abstract
The central focus of the project will be to build marketing networks. TNTF will identify and negotiate arrangements between PVO-supported enterprises and nonexploitative marketing channels and will encourage the development of specialized new channels, especially within the domestic PVO community. TNTF will also provide TA and training to help PVO"s adapt indigenous materials, skills, crafts, and other resources to world markets through marketing research, advertising, and promotion, as well as to broaden the understanding of their constituents at home on issues pertaining to Third World development. Finally, TNTF will build linkages between U.S. businesses and small enterprises in developing countries by organizing trade missions, supplier contacts, seminars, exchanges, and promotion of joint ventures and direct investment. The center"s main office for program dissemination and operations will be in Dayton, Ohio, while TNTF"s headquarters in Washington, DC, will provide administrative support.
