Abstract
project is a five-year initiative implemented by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in partnership with the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic (GOKR). The project aims to improve the quality of early grade reading and mathematics instruction in 75% of the country's schools, with a goal of reaching 300,000 Grade 1-4 students over the five-year period. The project will focus on providing quality learning materials, strengthening system support for schools, and optimizing early grade learning outcomes. The project's methodology is based on evidence-based programming, which involves using data and research to inform decision-making and program implementation. The project will work closely with the GOKR to develop and implement effective strategies for improving early grade learning outcomes. This will involve providing training and support to teachers, developing and distributing high-quality learning materials, and strengthening the capacity of the education system to support schools. One of the key objectives of the Okuu Keremet! project is to improve instructional quality in reading, numeracy, and math. This will be achieved through a range of activities, including teacher training, curriculum development, and the provision of high-quality learning materials. The project will also focus on strengthening the capacity of the education system to support schools, including the development of effective management systems and the provision of technical assistance to schools. The project will be implemented in partnership with a range of stakeholders, including the GOKR, local education authorities, and community organizations. The project will also work closely with international partners, including UNESCO and UNICEF, to leverage expertise and resources. The project's success will be monitored and evaluated through a range of indicators, including student learning outcomes, teacher training, and the quality of learning materials. The Okuu Keremet! project is a critical component of USAID's education strategy in the Kyrgyz Republic, which aims to improve access to quality education for all students, particularly those from vulnerable populations. The project's focus on early grade learning outcomes is critical, as it has been shown that early grade learning is a key predictor of future academic success. By improving early grade learning outcomes, the project will help to ensure that all students in the Kyrgyz Republic have access to quality education and are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in life. The project's implementation will be overseen by a team of experts from RTI International, who will work closely with the GOKR and other stakeholders to ensure that the project is implemented effectively and efficiently. The project's progress will be reported on a quarterly basis, with regular updates on project achievements and challenges. Overall, the Okuu Keremet! project is a critical initiative that has the potential to make a significant impact on the quality of education in the Kyrgyz Republic. By improving early grade learning outcomes, the project will help to ensure that all students in the country have access to quality education and are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in life.
