Abstract
The project aimed to support the direct delivery of clinical and community-based services for people living in geographic areas supported by the USAID-funded SSQH contract. The VRS North contract provided external verification of the SSQH service delivery contracts for the North Departments, with support for selected project areas through the delivery of Ministère de la Santé Publique et de la Population (MSPP) essential package of services. This package included primary healthcare services for HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB), Maternal and Child Health (MCH), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Nutrition, and Family Planning (FP). The community survey was conducted to confirm the existence of clients, services received, and level of satisfaction. The data collection tools were designed jointly by the MoH and USAID/LMG as part of the RBF manual. A sample of forty clients per facility was selected to participate in the community survey. The survey aimed to assess the quality of services provided by health facilities in the North Departments. The geographic area covered by the VRS North Project included the North Departments of Haiti. The project focused on supporting the delivery of essential package of services, including primary healthcare services for HIV/AIDS, TB, MCH, WASH, Nutrition, and FP. The project's objectives were to improve the quality of services provided by health facilities and to increase access to healthcare services for people living in the North Departments. The methodology used for the community survey included the selection of a sample of forty clients per facility, who were asked to participate in the survey. The survey tools were designed jointly by the MoH and USAID/LMG as part of the RBF manual. The survey aimed to assess the quality of services provided by health facilities, including client characteristics, client tracking rates, services received, and level of satisfaction. The results of the community survey showed that the majority of clients were satisfied with the services provided by health facilities. The survey also showed that the level of satisfaction varied by gender, with women reporting higher levels of satisfaction than men. The survey results also showed that the quality of services provided by health facilities varied, with some facilities reporting higher levels of satisfaction than others. The conclusions drawn from the survey results were that the VRS North Project had made significant progress in improving the quality of services provided by health facilities in the North Departments. The project had also increased access to healthcare services for people living in the North Departments. However, the survey results also highlighted the need for continued support to improve the quality of services provided by health facilities. The recommendations made based on the survey results were that the VRS North Project should continue to support the delivery of essential package of services, including primary healthcare services for HIV/AIDS, TB, MCH, WASH, Nutrition, and FP. The project should also continue to work with health facilities to improve the quality of services provided, including increasing access to healthcare services for people living in the North Departments. Additionally, the project should continue to monitor the quality of services provided by health facilities and provide technical assistance to improve the quality of services.
