Abstract
The program is implemented by Chemonics International Inc. and is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The CSP is operating in Lebanon's North, South, and Beqaa regions, as well as in areas of Beirut affected by the August 4, 2020, port explosions. The CSP's workforce development activity, referred to as Task Order No. 4 (TO 4), is a three-year pilot initiative that focuses on improving access to quality technical and vocational education and training (TVET). The program provides technical assistance to private TVET schools, municipal governments, and the private sector to enhance labor skills and employment opportunities for underserved Lebanese citizens. The CSP's workforce development activity is guided by USAID's Economic Growth Office and operates according to USAID Development Objective 2: Inclusive Economic Growth Enhanced. The program's objectives are to improve labor skills and employment opportunities for underserved Lebanese citizens, enhance access to quality TVET, and cultivate sustainable connections with the private sector. The CSP's workforce development activity is implemented through partnerships with private TVET schools, municipal governments, and the private sector. The program provides technical assistance to improve labor skills and employment opportunities for underserved Lebanese citizens, with a focus on areas such as technical and vocational education and training, human resources development, and private sector engagement. The CSP's workforce development activity is also focused on improving access to quality TVET for underserved Lebanese citizens. The program provides technical assistance to private sector partners to enhance their capacity to engage with TVET providers and to provide employment opportunities for graduates of TVET programs. The CSP's workforce development activity is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of underserved Lebanese citizens by improving their labor skills and employment opportunities. The program's objectives are aligned with USAID's Development Objective 2: Inclusive Economic Growth Enhanced, and the program's activities are designed to contribute to the achievement of this objective. The CSP's workforce development activity is implemented in partnership with local governments, civil society organizations, and the private sector. The program's approach is fast, flexible, and locally informed, and is designed to address the unique dynamics of each community.
