Zambia regional transport development : amendment no. 1

Under the auspices of the World Bank"s Fourth Railway Project, A.I.D. will finance needed spare parts for ZR"s existing fleet of General Electric locomotives. The parts will used for a major overhaul program aimed at increasing the availability of locomotives from 62% to 75%. Other activities under the World Bank program include track repair, improvement of the signaling and communications systems, wagon purchase and rehabilitation, and TA.
