Abstract
COVID-19 and the Looming Financial Crisis for Water Utilities The COVID-19 pandemic has put devastating financial stress on water utilities. USAID's Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Finance (WASH-FIN) project is conducting financial stress testing in several countries to quantify the financial impact on operations and help prioritize potential response options. Ahead of the Curve in Nepal The dire state of water, sanitation, and hygiene in health care facilities has long been overlooked. Years before the pandemic, USAID's Swachchhata activity began improving the critical infrastructure needed for infection prevention and control in more than 100 health care facilities. These groundbreaking efforts have never been more urgent. A Mother, A Teacher, A Trailblazer In Turkmenistan, trailblazing women are stepping into water management roles and raising their profiles in society with the support of local water councils that foster collaboration to find solutions to water-related problems.
