This document is a learning brief titled Supporting the COVID-19 Response: An Infection Prevention and Control Readiness Response in Ghana - Most Significant Change.
2022

Abstract
It reports on a project implemented by MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership, which aimed to support the COVID-19 response in Ghana by improving infection prevention and control (IPC) readiness in healthcare facilities. The project used a Most Significant Change (MSC) approach to identify and document changes made by healthcare staff in IPC practices. The brief presents the results of the MSC exercise, highlighting three key themes that emerged from the stories shared by healthcare staff: the importance of identifying an infection prevention focal point, the undervaluation and under-support of cleaning staff, and the multifaceted nature of adhering to proper infection prevention protocols.
