USAID MOMENTUM
This document, titled Measuring and Monitoring Adaptive Learning: An Overview, is a two-page landscape review that explores the concept of adaptive learning in global health programming.
2022

Abstract
It provides an overview of the current state of measuring and monitoring adaptive learning, highlighting the lack of standard metrics and frameworks for tracking its integration, implementation, and effectiveness. The review synthesizes the findings from six key resources, including guidelines, toolkits, and frameworks, to identify common themes and areas of focus for adaptive learning measurement and monitoring. The document also proposes three domains for adaptive learning intervention and measurement, including integration and institutionalization, utilization for program performance improvement, and scaling up adaptive learning products and practices. Finally, the document offers recommendations for MOMENTUM, a USAID-funded program, on how to approach measurement and monitoring of adaptive learning activities, including the use of case studies, reflection diaries, and qualitative impact assessment data.
