Abstract
The program focuses on supporting Accelerated Learning Programs (ALP) in schools, including Safer Learning Environments and the prevention and response to School-Related Gender-Based Violence (SRGBV). The program is implemented in six counties: Bong, Lofa, Nimba, Margibi, Bassa, and Montserrado. The program has undergone several cycles of training, with the third cycle being the focus of this manual. The training targets Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs), with the goal of engaging them in supporting ALP, including Safer Learning Environments and the prevention and response to SRGBV. The training is designed to be conducted simultaneously in all six counties. The training objectives include acquiring knowledge on the AQE SE pilot implementations and mid-assessment findings, showing behaviors that will support all children to learn and avoid trafficking, detecting low attendance and developing plans to improve regular attendance, and mobilizing resources to support school safety and other community-led aspects of ALP. The training methods include participatory and interactive techniques, such as brainstorming, discussions, gallery walks, presentations, and group work. The training is designed to be conducted by a team of facilitators, including MoE-TWG members, AE supervisors, and district focus persons. The training is expected to be conducted in a way that is engaging and interactive, with opportunities for participants to share their experiences and learn from each other. The training is also expected to be conducted in a way that is respectful and inclusive, with a focus on promoting the rights and dignity of all children. The training is designed to be conducted over several days, with each day focusing on a different topic. The training is expected to be conducted in a way that is flexible and adaptable, with opportunities for participants to ask questions and seek clarification on any topics that are unclear. The training is expected to be conducted in a way that is supportive and encouraging, with a focus on promoting the skills and knowledge of participants.
