Abstract
The event brought together approximately 120 participants from Asian and Pacific Island countries, as well as managers of key climate change funds. The forum provided a platform for discussions on available climate funding resources and adaptation project priorities. The ADAPT Asia-Pacific program was introduced during the forum, and lively debates took place on key issues related to climate change adaptation resourcing, fund access, and capacity development needs. The forum also served as an opportunity for networking and knowledge sharing among participants. The ADAPT Asia-Pacific program aims to enhance the process of resourcing climate change adaptation financing across the Asia-Pacific region. The program will continue to provide opportunities for knowledge sharing and knowledge management to support the development of climate change adaptation projects in the region. The forum proceedings were highly productive, with presentations and discussions focusing on various aspects of climate change adaptation. Panel sessions were held on adaptation finance, the role of multilateral organizations, developing country experience in preparing adaptation projects, and capacity building for adaptation project preparation. The ADAPT Asia-Pacific program has prepared a website containing all information from the 1st Annual Forum, including downloads of presentations and background information. The website is available at http://www.adaptasiapacific.org/forum/2012-forum. The ADAPT Asia-Pacific program is part of the USAID/RDMA Development Objective to improve the response to environmental challenges in Asia. The program is implemented through the Project Preparation Facility for Asia and the Pacific (ADAPT Asia-Pacific), with a contract number of 486-C-11-00005. The forum proceedings and key outcomes are reviewed in this final report, highlighting the main points from the presentations and discussions. The report is part of the ongoing process of knowledge sharing and knowledge management to support the development of climate change adaptation projects in the Asia-Pacific region. The ADAPT Asia-Pacific program has established partnerships with various organizations, including the Asian Development Bank, the Adaptation Fund, and the Asia Pacific Adaptation Network. These partnerships aim to enhance the availability of climate change adaptation funding and support the development of adaptation projects in the region. The program has also established a website to provide information on climate change adaptation funding resources and adaptation project priorities. The website is available at http://www.adaptasiapacific.org. The ADAPT Asia-Pacific program will continue to provide opportunities for knowledge sharing and knowledge management to support the development of climate change adaptation projects in the Asia-Pacific region. The program will also continue to work closely with partners to enhance the availability of climate change adaptation funding and support the development of adaptation projects in the region. The ADAPT Asia-Pacific program has a five-year implementation period, with the goal of enhancing the process of resourcing climate change adaptation financing across the Asia-Pacific region. The program will continue to work closely with partners to achieve this goal and support the development of climate change adaptation projects in the region.
