Abstract
A workshop on energy efficiency and renewable sources of energy was held on April 25, 2011, as part of the program's efforts to promote sustainable agricultural practices. The workshop aimed to educate farmers and agricultural professionals on the benefits and implementation of energy-efficient technologies. Pest control training was also provided to farmers through the AgBiz Program. The training was designed to equip farmers with the necessary skills and knowledge to manage pests effectively and minimize the use of chemical pesticides. This initiative was part of the program's broader goal of promoting integrated pest management practices and reducing the environmental impact of agriculture. The AgBiz Program also streamlined its registration process to make it more efficient and accessible to farmers. This change aimed to reduce the administrative burden on farmers and allow them to focus on their agricultural activities. The program's efforts to simplify its registration process were part of its overall goal of improving the business environment for farmers and promoting agricultural development. In addition to these initiatives, the AgBiz Program also produced guidebooks on post-harvest technology for selected agriculture commodities. These guidebooks were designed to provide farmers with practical information and guidance on how to handle and process their crops effectively. The guidebooks were inserted in the Moja Zemja Magazine, which was widely read by farmers and agricultural professionals in Macedonia. The AgBiz Program's efforts were supported by various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. The program's initiatives were implemented over a period of several months, from December 2010 to May 2011, and were aimed at improving the productivity and efficiency of agriculture in Macedonia.
