Grant is provided to the Adventist Development and Relief Agency to support child survival interventions in 11 marginal communities in the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa having a total population of about 4,800 women aged 15-45 and 4,000 children aged 1-4 years.

Abstract
Activities will include nutrition education, growth monitoring, and promotion of breastfeeding and weaning; prenatal care; promotion of measles vaccination; instruction of mothers in oral rehydration therapy (ORT) and improved water supplies and sanitation; education for early identification, home/community treatment, and case referral of acute respiratory infection; and distribution of vitamin A to children under 5, as well as promotion of home gardening, with emphasis on vitamin A-rich foods.
