Abstract
To improve women"s earning capacity, Project HOPE will work with its grassroots organizations (e.g., mothers" clubs) to develop pilot community banking programs in two countries. Program sustainability will be supported by emphasizing community participation, including the use of indigenous counterparts during all phases of the project. Project HOPE will also facilitate the regional exchange of lessons learned from the project and receive TA from other, more experienced PVOs to bolster its capacity to undertake future programs of this nature. In the second component, Project HOPE will use multiple strategies to provide sustainable, community-based MCH training programs to targeted populations in Guatemala, Honduras, and Swaziland. The programs will complement existing MCH education programs currently operated by Project HOPE in these countries.
