Abstract
SCAT will increase the number of organizations it supports from 60 to 67. Most of the projects will be in Cape Province. SCAT is a nonpartisan funding agency based in Cape Town, which was established in 1985 and up to now has been funded entirely by churches in Norway. SCAT"s aim is to build up organizations and groups that seek to achieve equality and social justice in South Africa. Priority is given to rural and urban community-based projects that address labor, housing, human rights, and general social and economic development issues, as well as the service organizations that support them. The organizations must be democratically run and be capable of raising some money locally.
