Abstract
(NAPA) to support participant training programs in the United States and in Brazil in areas such as AIDS prevention, global climate changed, and drug abuse awareness. The following activities are planned: (1) AIDS education programs, targeting primarily the business community, including an international seminar on AIDS in the workplace; (2) a U.S. visit for Brazilian health professionals to observe drug prevention programs on national, state, and local levels, and in the private sector and the primary and secondary school systems; (3) a seminar on global climate change to build linkages among U.S. and Brazilian professionals from academic, nongovernmental, and governmental institutions, with particular attention to the Amazon region; (4) continuation of NAPA"s U.S-Brazil university linkage program, to include some 30-40 faculty exchanges during the grant period, but with the addition of some funding for long- term participant training.
