Abstract
(NAPA) to support its program of scientific and technological cooperation with Brazil. The following activities are planned: (1) a health education seminar, cosponsored with the Ministry of Education; (2) a seminar on AIDS prevention and education in Brazil, and some short-term U.S. training of Brazilians in topics related to AIDS; (3) a U.S. seminar on agroforestry for 5-8 professionals; (4) continuation of NAPA"s U.S.-Brazil university linkage program; (5) U.S. training in drug/narcotics awareness education; and (6) through a subgrant to the Conservation Foundation, a multifaceted program of seminars, site visits, information dissemination, and training related to agroforestry environmental concerns, including: promoting policy changes, encouraging multiple use forest management in Acre state, educating leaders working on agroforestry programs, and promoting interchanges of ideas on the relationship between agroforestry and other land uses (e.g., agriculture, industry, and urbanization).
