AID grant no. 526-0591-G-SS-0002-00 to the Centro Paraguayo de Estudios Sociologicos to provide support for a program of training for election officials for the municipal election in Paraguay

CPES and CED will: (1) train a team of 40 professional trainers who will in turn train 600 volunteer instructors from the Regional Electoral Councils and the political parties participating in the coming elections; (2) set up an office to facilitate coordination, information, supply of materials, and logistic support for the 600 volunteer instructors, who will in turn train 15,000 election officials; (3) produce training materials; and (4) initiate a media campaign to promote awareness among election officials on the importance of supervision of the balloting process.
