Grant to Food for the Hungry International (FHI) to help farmers in Ethiopia, mainly in Gayint awraja in Gonder, and Alaba woreda in Shewa, to recover from years of drought extending from 1984 to 1987.

Abstract
FHI will purchase -- from the Ethiopian Seed Corporation, the Agricultural Marketing Corporation, or other local markets -- and distribute to needy farmers about 540 metric tons of maize, wheat, barley, sorghum, and other seeds, as well as about 25,000 hand tools. The Ministry of Agriculture will participate in these efforts.
