Grant is provided under the Natural Resources Management Support project (6980467) to the World Bank to support a Multi-Donor Secretariat (MDS) to implement a program to sustain biodiversity in Madagascar, the most important component of the World Bank"s Environmental Action Plan (EAP) for that country.

Abstract
The principal functions of the MDS will be to: (1) ensure effective coordination between Malagasy government officials and implementing agencies, donors, and PVO"s; (2) coordinate multi- donor supervisory and review missions led by the World Bank; (3) organize and conduct multi-donor meetings on EAP progress and emerging issues; (4) participate in raising extra funds that may be needed; (5) provide a central collection point and transmittal system for information from U.S. and European universities and research organizations; (6) arrange the TA needed to make use of in-country and international data bases; and (7) act as the focal point for donor contact with the Malagasy agencies in charge of coordinating EAP activities.
