AID grant no. EUR-0037-G-00-2014-00 to Humana, Inc. in support of a program at the Fundeni Clinic Hospital in Bucharest and the Mures Clinic Hospital in Tirgu-Mures, Romania

in support of a program to establish a cardiovascular surgery program at two sites in Romania: Fundeni Clinic Hospital in Bucharest and Mures Clinic Hospital in Tirgu-Mures. The Humana Heart Institute International (HHII) will implement the project in partnership with the Romanian Ministry of Health. Activities will include intensive tutorials in surgical techniques and technologies at HHII for Fundeni and Mures health care teams. HHII personnel will also conduct training programs at the two hospitals, which will include performing cardiovascular procedures, lecturing at regional seminars, and producing a medical publication. Additionally, Humana will outfit operating rooms at each hospital with modern medical and surgical equipment and will develop public education programs on the prevention of heart disease.
