Grant is provided under the Human Rights project (9300086) to Committees for a Community of Democracies - USA for a 3-day seminar to be held in Port Louis, Mauritius, to promote the democratic process in Africa.

Abstract

The seminar, planned for 5/86, will elicit African views on how the proposed inter-democracy organization, the Association of Democracy, should be organized and should function in Africa, and will serve to expand the Association"s understanding of African ideas of democracy and human rights.
