Abstract
Activities will include immunization of infants and women, distribution of oral rehydration solution packets, nutrition education, child-spacing promotion, Vitamin A distribution, control of respiratory infections, malaria prophylaxis, and training of community health committees and volunteer health workers. Country targets are as follows: (1) in Dhaka City, Bangladesh, 38,880 women and 22,263 children; (2) in the Barahona Province of the Dominican Republic, 33,569 children and 57,547 women; (3) in La Gonave, Haiti, 14,759 children and 17,003 women; (4) in Koutiala Cercle, Sikasso Region, Mali, 71 villages containing 26,700 children and 25,600 women; (5) in Meckhe and four rural communities, Senegal, 9,194 children and 9,766 women; (6) in Shamva District, Zimbabwe, 16,418 children and 34,940 women.
