Abstract
CARE will provide 4,950 families in 60 communities in the districts of Juli, Yunguyo, Pomata, Acora, Ilave, Puno, Paucarolla, Chucuito, Vilque, and Manzao with an assistance which includes: (1) seeds and fertilizers for the planting of potatoes, barley, quina, broad beans, and fodder; (2) TA and training in the appropriate use of seeds and fertilizers, natural disease control methods, general agricultural skills, community organization, and establishment of a revolving credit system; and (3) an animal health care service module with medicine and vaccines, In addition, the grant will fund transportation of Food for Work commodities to drought affected areas in the department of Puno.
