Grant is provided under a Program Development and Support Project to enable Peru"s PROSIP/Instituto Rural Valle Grande (IRVG) to expand its agricultural training and TA programs.
1986
Abstract
PROSIP/IRVG will: (1) provide specialized training for agricultural technicians working in Canete and Chincha Valleys (4 intensive 19-hour courses on such subjects as citrus crops, beans, small farm business development, and corn; 12 monthly technical meetings; and about 40 hours of follow-up courses); and (2) conduct two zonal training cycles (over the two growing seasons within the duration of the grant) for farmers in Mala Valley. Course fees will be collected from the agricultural technicians. PROSIP/IRVG will collaborate with the National Farmers" Organization (ONA) in its efforts to develop a mechanism to sustain the training and TA program. This grant is a follow-up to a 1984 A.I.D. grant supporting PROSIP/IRVG efforts to train agricultural technicians.
