Abstract
The project implementation will be in conflict-affected areas in Mindanao, with priority program locations including the 6 focus areas of Cotabato City/Sultan Kudarat, Zamboanga City, Marawi City, Basilan, Isabela, and Jolo/Sulu. USAID/Philippines will also work in other non-conflict-affected areas of Mindanao, implementing sector programs in energy, environment, and climate change. Logistics Support for Mindanao Activity provided a range of support services to USAID projects and activities in Mindanao and the U.S. Embassy. From May 2014 to September 2019, Logistics assisted 442 official visits and activities of USG officials, with 79 visits facilitated in FY 2019. The support services included logistical and security arrangements, arranged meetings with government officials, provided briefings, arranged travel and hotel accommodation, and provided talking points for resource/guest speakers. Logistics provided transport support for various USAID and U.S. Embassy staff trips to Mindanao, including visits to Davao City, Cagayan de Oro City, and Marawi City. Notable highlights of the fiscal year included the support provided to U.S. Ambassador Sung Kim's visit to Marawi City to launch USAID's Marawi Response Project, the assistance extended to USAID and U.S. Embassy Observers before, during, and after the 2019 Midterm Election, and the support provided to U.S. Ambassador Sung Kim's visit to Davao City for the LEGATT Counterterrorism Conference. Logistics also held a staff meeting in Davao City to update USAID representatives on Logistics activities, and provided security briefings to USAID and Logistics staff on Martial Law implementation in Mindanao and lessons learned by the government during the Marawi Siege. Additionally, Logistics provided accommodation, transportation, and security support to USAID's Office of the Security Director John Voorhees and party during their visit to Cagayan de Oro City. The Logistics Satisfaction Survey was conducted to gather feedback from visitors on Logistics services. The survey results showed high satisfaction rates, with visitors praising Logistics for its excellent support, coordination, and attention to detail. The feedback provided Logistics with a basis for maintaining or improving its services to USAID or the U.S. Embassy.
