Abstract
The geographic focus of the initiative was on Eastern Province, where the majority of Rwanda's agricultural production takes place. The initiative's implementation was carried out in collaboration with local government authorities, farmer organizations, and other stakeholders. The program's timeframes were set for a three-year period, with the first year focused on implementation and the second and third years dedicated to evaluation and scaling up. Recommendations from the midterm evaluation included increasing support for irrigation infrastructure development and providing additional training on market access and credit management. The evaluation also highlighted the need for continued support for women-headed households and other vulnerable groups. Overall, the agricultural development initiative in Rwanda has shown promising results in improving agricultural productivity and food security, and its continued implementation is expected to have a positive impact on the country's agricultural sector.
