Abstract
The program is implemented by Partners of the Americas (POA) in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and other stakeholders. During the fiscal year 2019-2020, POA focused on two main components of AVOP: sub-award management and knowledge management. Under the sub-award component, POA completed the second round of the Request for Applications (RFA) and awarded three sub-awards of $613,000 each to support projects in Cambodia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Burkina Faso. The sub-awardees, including the University of Tennessee, Purdue University, and the Browse & Grass Growers Cooperative, received training and support to implement the F2F program in their respective regions. The knowledge management component of AVOP focused on promoting greater understanding of the F2F program across the US and among prospective volunteers. POA led and facilitated various activities, including the F2F Program Directors meetings, the F2F Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Regional Meeting, and the F2F Volunteer of the Year awards. The program also collaborated with NCBA CLUSA to plan and co-lead the F2F LAC Regional Meeting and to promote the program through social media platforms. POA continued to manage the F2F website and implementer resource portal, updating it with new success stories, news, and relevant F2F information. The website saw 18,550 new users and 62,793 pageviews during the fiscal year. The F2F social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, also gained new followers, with the F2F Facebook page gaining 409 likes and 449 followers, while the F2F Twitter and LinkedIn accounts gained 237 and 344 new followers, respectively. The F2F program also attended outreach events, including the 92nd National FFA (Future Farmers of America) Convention & Expo, to promote the program and potential opportunities. The event was attended by approximately 70,000 people, including U.S. agricultural companies, universities, and federal and state agencies. POA also led online seminars and workshops to support the F2F Community of Practice, including a seminar on Remote & Cultural Collaboration on April 14th, 2020. The seminar reviewed best practices and strategies for working remotely and collaborating with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds. Overall, the AVOP program made significant progress in promoting agricultural development and agricultural volunteer opportunities in various regions. The program's focus on sub-award management and knowledge management enabled the implementation of the F2F program in new regions and the promotion of the program to a wider audience. The F2F program's success can be measured by its ability to promote agricultural development and agricultural volunteer opportunities in various regions. The program's impact can be seen in the following areas: * The F2F program has supported the implementation of agricultural projects in various regions, including Cambodia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Burkina Faso. * The program has promoted the F2F program to a wider audience, including prospective volunteers and stakeholders. * The F2F website and social media platforms have seen significant growth in terms of new users and followers. * The program has collaborated with other stakeholders, including USAID, NCBA CLUSA, and the F2F Community of Practice, to promote the program and support its implementation.
