Abstract
The project, initiated in March 2019, aims to evaluate existing combined heat and power (CHP) plants and district heating facilities. Initial assessments have been conducted, and data packages have been received from various stakeholders, including CET East, CET Nord, Termoelectrica, and IPE. The project's performance is being monitored closely, with a focus on expediting efforts to receive outstanding data packages from stakeholders such as Moldelectrica, Moldovagaz, GN Fenosa, and Vestmoldtransgaz. The delay in receiving these data packages may impact the performance of tasks 2 through 5, which include heat and electricity demand and supply, gas and water supply, land and structural issues, and legal and regulatory consideration. Implementation of the project is proceeding with tasks 1 through 5, based on available data. The assessment of existing CHPs and related DH facilities is expected to be completed by May 24, 2019. Task 2, heat and electricity demand and supply, is projected to be completed by June 25, 2019, while task 3, gas and water supply, is expected to be completed by July 10, 2019. Task 4, land and structural issues, is projected to be completed by July 17, 2019, and task 5, legal and regulatory consideration, is expected to be completed by May 24, 2019. The project's geographic focus is on Moldova, with a specific emphasis on the country's energy sector development. The project's timeframes are critical, with key milestones and deadlines established for each task. The project's recommendations will be based on the assessment of existing power generation options and the evaluation of the country's energy sector development needs.
