Abstract
The first step in this process is the identification of the system of installation for coffee, which involves determining the design of the planting layout, either in a square or Tresbolillos pattern. Each design has a specific number of coffee plants per hectare, with the square design accommodating 3,333 plants per hectare and the Tresbolillos design accommodating 3,850 plants per hectare. The next step is demarcation and trazado of the terrain, which involves marking out the area where the coffee plants will be planted. This is typically done using a level and a string to ensure that the area is level and even. In areas with slopes, the alineamiento en curvas a nivel method is recommended to prevent soil erosion and nutrient loss. The terrain is then staked out using jalones or estacas, which are spaced according to the chosen design and distance. Once the terrain has been staked out, the next step is poceado, which involves removing any debris or weeds from the area. This is followed by deshierbe, which involves removing any remaining weeds or debris from the area. The trasplante of the coffee plants then takes place, with the plants being carefully transplanted into the prepared soil. After the coffee plants have been transplanted, the next step is abonamiento orgánico, which involves applying organic fertilizers to the soil to promote healthy growth. This is followed by recalce, which involves providing support to the coffee plants as they grow. Finally, the instalación de microrrelleno takes place, which involves installing a layer of micro-irrigation to provide the coffee plants with a consistent supply of water. The entire process is designed to ensure that the coffee plants are established in a healthy and sustainable manner, with the goal of promoting coffee production in regions formerly affected by coca cultivation. By following these steps, farmers can establish a successful coffee crop that will provide a sustainable source of income and help to promote economic development in the region.
