Abstract
The system enables individuals to report cases of discrimination directly to CHRAJ or through partner organizations, with the goal of improving case reporting and access to justice for PLHIV and other key populations. The online system allows individuals to submit complaints anonymously, but CHRAJ is unable to investigate or seek compensation/redress for anonymous complaints. Alternatively, individuals experiencing discrimination may ask a trusted individual or organization to report to CHRAJ on their behalf, providing their name and contact information. The reporting person/organization will be responsible for communicating with CHRAJ staff regarding the case. CHRAJ handles complaints of discrimination, including HIV-related cases, through mediation, investigation, and adjudication. The commission was created in 1993 to promote Human Rights, Administrative Justice, and Combat Corruption, and is mandated under the constitution of Ghana to handle complaints of discrimination. The online system is accessible through the website http://drsystem.chrajghana.com/, where individuals can fill out a complaint form, text "chraj" to 1907, or report their case in person to CHRAJ head office in Accra. Organizations working with PLHIV and other key population groups can use the system to track and manage complaints by requesting an institutional account. This allows them to monitor the progress of complaints and generate reports and statistics on cases of HIV-related discrimination. The system also enables advocates and other interested parties to generate reports and statistics on cases of HIV-related discrimination. The reporting process involves filling out a complaint form, which includes providing information about the incident, the parties involved, and the desired outcome. The form can be completed online or in person at CHRAJ head office. Once the complaint is submitted, CHRAJ staff will review the information and initiate an investigation, which may involve mediation, investigation, and adjudication. The commission will communicate with the reporting person/organization regarding the progress of the complaint and any subsequent actions taken.
