Abstract
The report was prepared by International Resources Group (IRG) for review by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The CCRD task order is part of the Integrated Water and Coastal Resources Management Indefinite Quantities Contract (Water II IQC). Project management and implementation activities undertaken and/or completed during the reporting period are summarized in the report. The CCRD quarterly financial report and quarterly Performance Management Plan (PMP) report are provided as annexes. The report is divided into four sections: project management, objective 1 activities, objective 2 activities, and objective 3 activities. Project management activities include developing the year two work plan, conducting advisory committee meetings, developing and disseminating CCRD knowledge management products, and implementing grants under contract program. Objective 1 activities focus on supporting USAID missions and bureaus, including revising the vulnerability and adaptation manual, developing climate briefs and annexes, and supporting the development of USAID's federal agency climate change adaptation plan. Objective 2 activities involve coordinating with other U.S. government agencies to support mainstreaming, including conducting adaptation partnership workshops, facilitating adaptation partnership communities of practice, and developing adaptation partnership materials. Objective 3 activities aim to identify and respond to emerging issues and fill gaps, including supporting the preparation of national adaptation plans, developing the High Mountain Glacial Watershed Program's community of practice, and designing and conducting the climber-scientist competitive solicitation. The report includes updates on activities and tasks described in the CCRD Year One Work Plan Revised Draft. The CCRD task order is a key component of the Water II IQC, which aims to support climate change resilient development in various regions. The consortium led by IRG/Engility has made significant progress in implementing the CCRD task order. Key achievements include the development of the year two work plan, the conduct of advisory committee meetings, and the implementation of grants under contract program. The consortium has also made progress in supporting USAID missions and bureaus, including the revision of the vulnerability and adaptation manual and the development of climate briefs and annexes. The report highlights the importance of mainstreaming climate change adaptation into development programs and policies. The CCRD task order is a critical component of this effort, and the consortium's progress in implementing the task order is a significant step towards achieving this goal. The report also emphasizes the need for continued coordination and collaboration among U.S. government agencies, international organizations, and local stakeholders to support climate change resilient development. The CCRD task order has a geographic focus on various regions, including Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The task order aims to support climate change resilient development in these regions by providing technical assistance, capacity building, and knowledge management services. The report highlights the importance of addressing climate change in development programs and policies, particularly in vulnerable regions. The report provides a comprehensive overview of the CCRD task order and its implementation progress. It highlights the key achievements and challenges faced by the consortium and provides recommendations for future action. The report is a valuable resource for stakeholders interested in climate change resilient development and the implementation of the CCRD task order.
